Our latest study, published in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases (IBD), set out to close a critical gap in patient care.
The Clinical Gap: Mental health remains a critically overlooked aspect of Inflammatory Bowel Disease management. Previously, the exact burden of mental health conditions in children and young adults with IBD was unclear.
The Outcome: Using real-world primary care data from the Optimum Patient Care Research Database (OPCRD), this study revealed that young IBD patients have a significantly higher incidence and risk of new mental health conditions.
The Impact: These findings are now cited as a key evidence source for the European Society for Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (ESPGHAN).
